Twofold Privacy Policy

Twofold: Couples ("Twofold", "we") is an iOS app for two people in a relationship. This policy explains what data the app handles and why. The short version: your data exists to be shared with one person — your partner. We don't run ads, we don't sell data, and we don't use third-party analytics or tracking.
What we collect
- Account: a random account identifier created when you start using the app. If you link your Apple ID for account recovery, we receive the identifier Apple provides.
- Profile: the display name you enter and, optionally, your birthday.
- Content you create: your daily answers and guesses, quiz responses, optional voice recordings, notes and messages to your partner, goals, moods and statuses, places you choose to mark on your shared map, and photos you attach to them.
- Push token: a device token so Apple can deliver notifications.
Location
Twofold does not track your location. Location is used only when you actively add a place to your shared map, with your permission, at that moment. There is no background location access.
How we use your data
- To run the app: showing your answers, streaks, reports, and map to you and your partner. Sharing with your partner is the point of the app — everything you submit into a shared feature is visible to them.
- AI features: some content (such as your answers) is processed by our AI service provider (Anthropic) to generate personalized questions, match insights, and weekly summaries. This content is used solely to provide the feature and is not used by the provider to train its models.
Who we share it with
Your partner, and the service providers that make the app work: Supabase (database and storage, hosted in the EU — Frankfurt), Apple (push notifications and payments), and Anthropic (AI processing, described above). Nobody else. We never sell your data.
Payments
Subscriptions are handled entirely by Apple through your App Store account. We never see your payment details.
Security and retention
Data is encrypted in transit and protected by per-couple access rules on our servers. We keep your data for as long as your account exists.
Deleting your data
You can delete your account from within the app; this removes your data from our servers. You can also email us and we'll take care of it.
Children
Twofold is not directed to children and is not intended for anyone under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country).
